Larry F. Houston is the Emmy-nominated Producer/Director of THE X-MEN Animated show, the phenomenally successful 90s series that laid the foundation for Marvel’s multi-billion dollar mutant franchise globally.
Hired by Filmation Studios as the FIRST African-American Saturday Morning Storyboard Artist, Larry worked as a Storyboard Artist on some of the favorite 80s and 90s classic shows like: Thundarr, Spiderman and his Amazing Friends, ExoSquad, Transformers, Spawn, Mr. T, Batman, Real Ghostbusters, Conan, Swamp Thing, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mighty Orbots, Bionic Six, Visionaries, Hulk, and Defenders of the Earth.
He was the Director of Captain Planet, GI Joe, Fantastic Four 2nd season, The Karate Kid, Jonny Quest, RoboCop Alpha Commando, Kid N Play, The Care Bears on CBS and three (3) Care Bear Movies.
The FIRST animated appearance of THE BLACK PANTHER was a cameo Larry added in the 90s X-MEN, followed by his FIRST fully animated episode, “Prey of the Black Panther”, in second season of THE FANTASTIC FOUR.
Additionally, the X-Men TV Intro and inspiring GI Joe: The Movie Intro were both drawn by Larry, as well as The Karate Kid Intro and the TV show Community’s GI Jeff Intro.
